Clinical Problem

Cardiovascular disease: the global crisis demanding innovation

Cardiovascular disease is a global crisis – responsible for nearly 20 million deaths each year and an economic burden set to surpass $900 billion worldwide by 2030. Today’s generic risk models can’t predict outcomes at the individual level, so interventions often come too late – up to 50% of cases only receive treatment after events like myocardial infarction or stroke.

Compounding this, current imaging tools either lack the resolution to catch early-stage disease, expose patients to harmful radiation, or depend on prohibitively expensive systems.

There is therefore an urgent need for affordable, high-resolution imaging combined with advanced predictive analytics to enable personalized risk assessment and disease‐trajectory forecasting- a shift that could prevent up to 80% of premature cardiovascular deaths (World Health Organization).
